Safeguarding

Safeguarding that keeps up
with your volunteers.

See who is safeguarding-ready, get concerns to your Safeguarding Leads and only them, and keep a clear record of what your team did. Built into the same system you use to run your volunteers.

Included as standard Primary and Secondary Safeguarding Leads Your own concern form

Know who is ready

Background checks, expiry dates and policy confirmations for every volunteer, with the people who need chasing picked out for you.

Get concerns to the right people

Volunteers report from their phone, using your organisation's own questions. Your leads are alerted straight away.

Keep it confidential

Only your named leads can read a concern. Alert emails never include the details, and every action is recorded.

Readiness

Know who is safeguarding-ready, at a glance.

One page shows whether each volunteer's checks and confirmations are in place, so nothing relies on a spreadsheet someone forgot to update.

  • Background checks your way. Require DBS or your local equivalent for everyone, or only for the volunteers who need it.
  • Expiry warnings for checks running out soon, with a warning window you choose.
  • Store certificates or not. Keep uploads with staff verification, or record only the check type, outcome and dates if your policy is not to hold certificates.
  • Safeguarding policies shared with volunteers, either for reference or with a confirmation that they have read them.
  • One-click reminders by email and in-app notification when a background check needs attention.
Raising a concern

From a volunteer's phone to your leads, and only them.

Volunteers see your Safeguarding Lead's contact details and your own guidance on what to do if someone is at immediate risk, right next to the form.

A volunteer reports it

From their Safeguarding page, or while logging their activity. They can mark it as urgent.

Your leads are alerted

Your Primary and Secondary Safeguarding Leads are told straight away. The alert says a concern has arrived, never what it says.

Leads read and act

They sign in to read it in full and add each action they take to its record, which cannot be edited afterwards.

Nothing feels ignored

The volunteer can see that it was received and its current status, but never the handling record.

Your form

Your safeguarding form. Not ours.

Every organisation's policy asks different questions. Add yours, and every concern report asks them.

  • Any kind of question: short or long answers, yes or no, choose one, choose any that apply, and dates.
  • Required or optional, each with guidance for volunteers in your own words.
  • Reorder, switch off or edit questions whenever your policy changes.
  • Reports keep their original wording. Changing the form never alters a report already sent.
Plainly put

What Volunteeria is, and isn't.

Volunteeria records that a concern was raised and what your team did about it, with access kept to the people responsible. It is not a replacement for your safeguarding procedure. Where a child or an adult at risk is involved, always follow your own procedure and your local authority's reporting route.

Questions safeguarding leads ask

Good to know.

Only your named Primary and Secondary Safeguarding Leads. Other staff, including other administrators, cannot open concern records. The volunteer who raised it can see that it was received and its current status, but not how it is being handled.

No. Your leads are told that a concern has arrived and sign in to read it, so the details never sit in anyone's inbox.

No. You can keep certificate uploads with staff verification, or record only the check type, outcome and dates if your policy is not to hold certificates.

Yes. Volunteers without email sign in with their volunteer code and a password, after a one-time activation arranged by your organisation, and can report a concern in the same way.

Yes. Add, edit, reorder or switch off questions whenever your policy changes. Reports already sent keep the exact questions and answers they were sent with.

No, and we would rather say so plainly. It records that a concern was raised and what your team did about it. Always follow your own safeguarding procedure and your local authority's reporting route, especially where a child or an adult at risk is involved.
